Julie B. Booth
Julie B. Booth holds a BA in studio art from Wesleyan University and a certificate degree in scientific illustration from Rhode Island School of Design. Although a graphic designer for 18 years, her first love has always been working with fiber. Since 1993, Julie has focused on creating soft sculptured figures and fiber sculpture. In 1994 she established her business, Thread Born Dolls specializing in one-of-a-kind creations and doll patterns. As an educator, Julie specializes in teaching classes in doll making, fiber sculpture, surface design and embellishment techniques. She has exhibited her work in a number of Washington DC area galleries as well as in nationally traveling exhibitions. She is currently a member of F.I.N.E. (Fiber in Nearly Everything) a group of six fiber sculptors who exhibit together. Her work can be seen regularly at the Potomac Craftsmen Fiber Gallery in Alexandria, Virginia.
